Time and weather slowly take away the texture and vibrancy of all natural beings. Old Mission San Miguel is no exception. Founded in 1797, and built in the early 1800s; the Mission then went through abandonment for 23 years due to a change of political governments around the 1840s. In 2003 its structure suffered the impact of tectonic waves. As technology makes its room in time, some sections of the Mission complex need retrofitting and upgrades to new technology. This historical landmark is always in need of repairs and maintenance.
Our gift shop and museum fees are not enough to cover the work needed to maintain more than 60,000 square feet of the structure and restore walls, artifacts, and artworks. This is why we need the support of friends, donors, and organizations to perpetuate for future generations a monument of the history of our county, state, and American nation.
We invite you to support Old Mission San Miguel Museum and Historical Building. We are a nonprofit organization 501 (c)3. Donations are restricted to the restoration and upgrades of our museum and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
